New Year’s resolution(s)
So, it’s been months since I had the site redone (courtesy of Gary at CWI Media)…and almost as long since I’ve updated it. For 2011, my recurring resolution (to simply be better than I was last year) requires me to make sure to keep it current. This is my first attempt…all over again.
Last Call Entertainment has begun its tenth (YES – 10th!) year at the same location – El Sarape II on Olympia’s west side – throwing our “Last Call Parties”. I wouldn’t have believed it if someone told me in the fall of 2001 that they’d still be going strong after nearly a decade. We’re hoping you (locals) have a chance to join us there any Friday or Saturday night. Everyone is invited to celebrate our decade anniversary at the end of September. This party is going on every weekend – 9:30 until close.
Last year my work with Washington MMA (the amateur mixed martial arts organization) took me into the refereeing trade. I’m still producing and announcing, but now I have a chance to get even closer to the action at some of the smaller shows around Washington State. This has not only been a lot of fun, and work, but I also received an honorable mention after being nominated as Washington State’s 2010 referee of the year.
We began the new year with our 3 regular ‘beginning of the year’ events – Marine View Beverage annual party, PSE of Washington’s legislative conference, and United Combat Sports’ 2nd Annual health and fitness expo. Next month, I’ll be refereeing on the 4th, 5th and 12th. Otherwise, you’ll probably find me at the cantina. See you around…
